Pixi Web Dev ("Pixi", "we", "us") is a web design and development studio run by Srijan Katuwal and Bhawana Rana in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through pixiwebdev.com, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us. When you fill in the contact form, we receive:
- your name and email address
- your business name and current website, if you provide them
- your industry and budget, if you provide them
- your message
- the page you sent the form from, and the date and time
If you use the chat assistant, the messages you type are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. We don't save chats, so please don't share personal or sensitive details there.
If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in that email. Our hosting provider also keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for a short time to keep the site secure and running.
How we use it
We use your information only to:
- reply to your enquiry and talk about your project
- answer questions you ask the chat assistant
- prepare a quote, and deliver the work if you become a client
- keep a record of our conversation
- keep the website secure and working
We don't sell your information, and we won't add you to a mailing list without asking.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run this website and our email. They only process your information so they can provide that service to us:
- Vercel: hosts this website.
- Resend: delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- Hostinger: provides our email inbox.
- OpenAI: generates the chat assistant's replies. It may keep chat messages for up to 30 days to prevent abuse, and doesn't use them to train its models.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We won't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our fonts are served from our own site, so your browser doesn't connect to third-party font services either. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to talk about your project, and for up to two years afterwards so we have a record of the conversation. If you become a client, we keep project records for as long as we need them for the work and for legal and accounting reasons. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information
- stop contacting you
Just email info@pixiwebdev.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only the two of us have access to the enquiries we receive. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
